Monroe Theater Age and Discount Policy

Children under 4 are free. Children 4-12 must pay the child admission price.
Students must show ID to get student rate.
Senior tickets are valid for adults 60 years and older.
Active military and their families must show valid ID as do veterans to receive military discount.
Downing members must show valid membership ID.

Town of Monroe residents must show Monroe Theater Resident card prior to purchasing tickets to receive discount.
If you do not have your card with you, the regular movie ticket rate will be charged.
If you present the card after purchasing tickets, no refunds will be given.

What is the Monroe theater “Resident Membership Card”?

Rated R Films

1.) Monroe Theater will not sell tickets to any person under the age of 17 for an “R” rated film.
2.) A person must be at least 21 years old to purchase multiple tickets for an “R” rated film,
without providing additional photo I.D. for those additional tickets.
3.) Patrons 17 to 20 years of age are only allowed 1 admission per each Photo ID presented, no exceptions.
4.) Managers may empower Ushers to check for photo identification.
If a guest appears to be underage and is holding a ticket for an “R” rated feature.

Internet ticket sales

Tickets can be purchased online and picked up at the theatre.
Please remember that the admittance procedure still applies to those individuals that make purchases on-line.

Anyone purchasing a resident ticket online will be asked to produce their card at the time of redemption.
If the card is not produced, the difference in ticket price will be assessed and payment will be expected.

Costumes with Masks and Props

Protecting the safety of our patrons and staff is always top priority at Monroe Theater.
Therefore, Monroe Theater does not allow admission for our guests of any age wearing masks,
face paint or face-obscuring hood; or possessing weapons, props or fake weapons.

Backpacks / Packages / Bags

Security issues have become a part of our daily lives in America.
Monroe Theater wants our patrons and staff to feel comfortable and safe when visiting or working in our theatres.
In that regard, as a rule all backpacks, packages and large bags of any kind are subject for inspection.
You may be asked to check your bag at the manager’s desk which can be picked up upon exiting the theater.

Lost and Found

Monroe Theater is not responsible for lost, stolen, or recovered personal items.
Before leaving the auditorium, please check around your seat for any personal belongings. For assistance, contact a staff member.

Film Theft

No recording devices (cameras, video recorders, sound recorders, etc.) are permitted to be used within Monroe Theater

Personal Communication Devices
In consideration of all our guests,
Monroe Theater asks that you please refrain from…
using cell phones, pagers, or any other personal communication device while in the auditoriums.
Phones should be put on vibrate and all calls taken out in the lobby.

Monroe Theater is a smoke-free environment. Absolutely no smoking allowed including (vaporizes) vaping, hookah, etc.

Refund Policy

You may receive refunds for tickets up to 60 minutes before the show time.
There are NO refunds after the printed show time or tickets purchased at the incorrect rate.
For extenuating circumstances, please consult theater management.
